Conscious Parenting and Education
Conscious parenting
What is conscious parenting?
Conscious parenting involves becoming attentive of your conduct and engaging with your child as an individual.
Education is a topic I am passionate about. I believe education is the key to solving all of the problems in our lives. Reach out for the information you may need, join groups that center around conscious parenting for the most recently tried and tested tips and tricks.
Instead of relying on old habits ritualized into us from birth in most cases, start to create your very own healthy habits.
There is a broad spectrum of what this may look like. I would say, the most significant aspect of being a conscious parent is the intention.
Being intentional, deliberate and accountable for our choices of how we live our life, parent our children, affect our community, and treat our earth.
Understand our actions have reverberations beyond the here and now and beyond ourselves. Those should be considered when constructing our decisions for ourselves and our family.
Pause before enactment, no matter how minute or how significant the action. In order to be thoughtful with our choices, it is best to give yourself a 3 to 5-second pause before carrying out some automatic, learned response. Be sure the way you were immediately going to respond is really the way you want to react.
Displaying our values to our children and our communities by doing the best we can to walk the walk instead of just talk the talk. Every day is a new chance to be the best version of you.
Acknowledging that every tiny action has an effect, and it doesn’t have to be intense to be impactful.
A young person who has been blessed to be in a family that has conditioned them and taught them rock solid values about how precious life is, about how powerful they are, about how connected they are to themselves, to other people, to nature, to their own bodies… when they hear criticisms and bullying it rolls off of them because it doesn't have the same meaning as it does to children who have not been taught these values.
It all comes back to this fundamental question… who am I, who am I raising?
Absolve yourself from prior mistakes and decide to parent more consciously in the here and now.
